If you’ve ever taught, provided training or mentoring in the internet marketing or small business environment, then you will identify with and understand the frustration of many seminar and conference instructors and organizers.  If your affiliates or associates have ever come to you complaining about their lack of progress or abillity to make money… you don’t have to feel guilty or responsible for their failures.

They have heard it before… therfore they do not need to apply your advice… may not take it seriously. Therefore they do not apply what you teach them.

Make a list of the three activities that create the most value (money) for your business. Make a commitment to schedule them in on a daily business in large time blocks!

Remember that ultimately your customers will determine the value of your products… therefore your business and your time.  Prioritize.

Do the find the days flying by and leaving you behind? Are you working your life away? Whether you work long hours because of passion for your product or business… or because you need lots of money… you MUST make time for fun.

Even God rested on the seventh day… maybe to set an example for us. Our bodies need rest and balance. Although we always teach that our thinking - our mind - has to remain focused… it also needs to be renewed.

If you are a workaholic then you need to listen up! In order to truly be productive, you have to de-stress! You have to make time to unwind. You need to relax and escape the pressure, the stress, the dogma of the day.

If you have a hard time laying around or have forgotten how to “do nothing” let me give you something to do… take some to time to… get away.  Take a trip.

If that is impossible right now I have made a list of 10 Tips to take the stress away so that you can be more productive with your daily grind of duties.

1. Laugh A Lot

Lighten up. Laugh when you want to cry. To laugh is to heal.  Laughing has physical benefits as well as providing emotional healing. I could go on and on to remind you of the many reasons why you should force yourself to laugh… atleast once a day.  Mia’s BONUS TIP: It starts with a smile

2. Leave Work Early And Often

I give you permission to move your folder or project aside… and decide to leave the office and go unwind. Tell your boss Mia told you to do it. To be honest… this kind of freedom is the very reason that I believe being a self employed entrepreneur, small business owner, or a home based business owner is the absolute best avenue for many adventurous, maverick type, type A personalities! I can set you up so quickly and easily to have your own business… but I’ll stick to the article outline for now.

3. Leave The Drama At Work - How To De-Stress

You are passionate about your work (I hope… if not we need to talk) But know that what you do is not you. Yes it reflects who you are… but you are not a project, a business, or a book. You are human with feelings and needs. If you do not mentally leave your work, separate your job from your personal life… it will eventually leave you dull and dry and discouraged. Not good for profitablility nor the bottom line. 

4. Leisure & Fun = Play - How To De-Stress

Learn to play. Give yourself permission to play. Remember playing kickball? How about swinging or riding your bike? A long time ago right? You need to revive those relaxing, mood lifting times. Take a stroll, smell the flowers, plan a picnic, lay in the grass. You work hard…You need downtime. Your health depends on it. You deserve it.

5. Long Vacations Pay Huge Dividends - How To De-Stress

You say WHAT? Long vacations pay huge dividends. I’m not talking about money dividends (Although I CAN show you how to make money while you play with Forex investments) I am talking about quality of life dividends. Time to unwind - it does take a few days to let your work go. I think cruises are a great economical way to take a “forget it all” vacation and escape to another world.

6. Leave Fond Memories - How To De-Stress

Speaking of Investments… you need to leave good memories for your children. You may be working hard to provide for their futures (and they will thank you for it) but they also need more of you. More time, more love, more understanding. How can you relate to their world if you are not really in it? Better relationships, a loving marriage (?) happy children and a happier, more dignified, relaxed you.

7. Love Means Family Time - How To De-Stress

Schedule love into your life. You may say “My family already knows that I love them, look how hard I work!” That makes sense to me… but children and spouses don’t always think logically. They feel. If you are not around… they feel lost, they feel alone, they feel ignored, and eventually replace you with someone who gives them attention.

8. Learn A New Hobby - How To De-stress

If you have an old hobby or activity that you have slung aside in your quest to make a living… re-vive your old passion. Or better yet - start a new one. Always wanted to rebuild an engine? Collect cars, or miniature trains, or dolls?  Many people are on Ebay selling their treasures… (by the way that’s a side good business/hobby to get into.)

Take up golf or horseback riding or racing or skydiving. Just be careful. Need I remind you that people are depending on you to be around for a long time.

9. Learn Time Management - How To De-Stress

Invest in the Franklin Covey system of time and project management. It will change how you work and how you play… allowing more time for leisure activity as well as relieving the stress of hectic waste of time tasks… will improve your profits and productivity.

10. Let Yourself Be Pampered - How To De-Stress

It’s a nice way of saying “Baby Yourself.” Be good to yourself. From health spas and vacations to hobbies and childlike fun you owe it to yourself to care. Take care of yourself… your body, mind, soul and spirit.

You design your destiny. Or shall I say, you should be designing your destiny.

Your attitudes, inner core values, and your belief system ultimately guide your actions… they are like a compass… assisting you in reaching your desired goals. They can also help you fail.

There are lots of self help and personal development books, tapes, CD’s and podcasts available. We know that a lot of money is being spent on these materials. I read statistics that stated that in 2005 over $9.6 Billion dollars was spent on self help products. Though many swear by these motivational or inspirational products… others criticize these methods of self improvement and claim it is all bunk…a waste of time and money.

Because I know how important self talk and motivation are in my own personal journey to success and I know how human nature tends to gravitate toward the negative if left unchecked… I believe it is necessary for most people (myself included) to receive inspiration from another source outside of themselves.

In order for us to realize the success in life that we all desire and strive for - we need to be sustained at times to remain at the top of our game. Sometimes our friends and family are not able to encourage us in the way that we need to be lifted up. Especially if we are striving to move forward… breaking through barriers and glass ceilings, whether real or imagined. Breaking the generic hardened mold… of mould and decay… that would constrain us or reduce us to the role of a “walking generality” should be the goal of any entrepreneur.

Personal development courses and training are only an honest attempt to impart into us the ingredients for success. Success in business… Success in our relationships… Success in areas of known weakness. As we listen… intent on hearing messages of affirmation and positive reinforcement… it bears witness with the truth that is hidden within us… the inner desire… the inner knowing that we as human beings created in the image of a loving, powerful God. We are capable of far more than we have yet imagined or believed.

If we hear a message of affirmation long enough, it will get into our spirit and unite with our soul and we will begin to “walk out” or “act upon” the good intentions that are the deep desires of our heart.

First hope, faith, then courage, and finally love will become our mantle and shield. We then become ready to go forth into our universe, community, or niche to conquer all the fear, negativity, and unworthiness that we all, at times, feel when we are being held back.

The bigger the mountain the harder and longer the climb… but the reward? It will be worth the journey.

RSS With Google Reader For Internet Marketing - For Everyone!

There are over 50 million blogs according to Technorati. I am not sure how many of these are Internet Marketing or Business Blogs but that is an awful lot of smart content being posted online that you and I cannot easily get to! Introducing the RSS Feed…

RSS Feeds Help Online Business & Internet Marketing Success

How do we keep up with all the new information and websites that we have saved in our browser “Favorites?” Whether personal browsing or business blogging, it is inconvenient to organize and go into those folders looking for favorite websites so we don’t do it often do we? We just type into our browser or Google the places we like to visit daily, weekly or whatever.

This is not efficient nor is it the best way to check into your favorite websites be they internet marketing blogs or any blog or website. So what is the solution? RSS. RSS stands for Really Simple Syndication. I know it sounds complicated but it really is simple for you as a user.

Every modern website or professional blog has an RSS feed. (Feed = Website Content) When you visit a website that you want to monitor or check in on periodically, you look for the RSS button and click on it… adding it to your (Google) RSS Reader.

A Google RSS Reader is free and it pulls in a fresh feed from any website that you add to it…every time the internet marketing website has news or a fresh article, posting, podcast, etc. Therefore you do not have to surf around trying to remember your favorite internet marketing guru addresses or those unique, interesting sites that you found.. oh so long ago.

When you visit an internet marketing or other website or blog that you want to keep getting articles, news, postings or podcasts from you will look for a button (usually it is ORANGE) and click on it to allow it to be added to your Google Reader.

The Google Reader will keep track of all your favorite websites or internet marketing blogs and automatically keep adding fresh content as each website updates it’s news or content. It is a fantastic tool if you like to research or read… or even if you are just nosy and want to know what your competitor is up to!

Another Google Trick - Google Alerts

There are many advanced tricks you can setup Google to do… such as notify you by email if certain keywords anywhere on the Internet are included in a website post. Now you have to get very specific with your keywords of course.

For instance, I was interested in investing in a new technology for energy and had a tip about a guy named “Kanzius” who was an inventor. I want to know if he ever gets an IPO so I have set up a Google alert with the keyword “Kanzius” and now everytime there is a press release or article about his invention, fundraising, or anything connected with his research, etc I get an email! Cool eh?

I am now going to add the RSS Feeds of my favorite Internet Marketing guru blogs… a great way to stay up to date with various product launches and new strategies that are always being developed to make money online. If you have an online business you should encourage your readers to put your RSS Feed in their Google Readers.  Some claim that Email Marketing may become obsolete and replaced by something
similiar to RSS.

Do you have deep desires yet to be fulfilled in your life? I won’t lie… I’ll admit to you that I have many dreams and desires that I have not yet accomplished for a variety of reasons. Some reasons are beyond my control… or the timing is not quite right… yet. But I also know that many of my dreams and goals have not manifested… and it is all my fault.

What a tragedy. When a gap exists between dreams and reality… it can lead to bigger issues emotionally, with our relationships or with our health. It is then time to access and map out a new plan… a new life!

People have many diverse desires and dreams, goals and definitions for success. You may fancy big exotic cars, while another wants a house on a hill. Your neighbor may want to own their own business and another always wanted a formal education. Some people want to retire early with millions to sustain them in their old age. Some just want love.

Whatever your goals are…you can meet them. You may have to adjust the magnitude in relation to the timing, or even tweak your definition of success. You may have to compromise something of lesser value. You will have to adjust your vision periodically as the path to success is rarely short and simple but long and winding. But you can have the success that you dream of.

You can have the desires of your heart if the condition of your heart is right. If your heart has hope it has a seed of faith. The atmosphere and environment for your personal and business success must be conducive to growth - so that your seed of faith can flourish and bear fruit.

So recently I was introduced to a website about “mind movies.” A really cool video visualization technique that helps propel you toward your dreams. You make your own reality by creating a movie of your dreams. I would call it a lazy mans way of meditating.

Or… wait! Actually it takes more energy to create a mind movie than to just relax on a daily basis for a moment in time and meditate with your own mind pictures. I have been using that method since grade school… just to force myself to finish my homework or do chores or whatever.

I produce television and do some digital art, so of course I naturally use visualization just to birth a project, campaign, or brand. But this mind movie thing is a good way to get people to understand the connection between dreaming and doing and how powerful the results can be.

But we must discuss the difference between dreaming and doing. Or dreaming and setting goals. Just because we sit around and conjure up wonderful images of our personal or business success mind movie… does NOT mean we automatically fulfill our goals. Goals. I said goals folks. We must have them. They are the stepping stones that lead us toward our destination called success!

And this is where I have failed many times. I have always realized the power of positive thinking, positive talk, dreams and visualization. I have even been pretty good about writing out plans and goals.. blueprints to lead to the fulfillment of my dreams. But often times I have lost focus. Confession Time…

I would either float from project to project or lose interest in a project once felt I had mastered it. Sometimes I lost interest immediately after creating a master plan with all the bells and whistles… ready to be launched and I walked away to birth another idea leaving the beautiful project on the launching pad. Stupid? Absolutely. I admit it.

How Can You Avoid Stupid?Realize that although you need to spend time visualizing success and dreaming about the results - you have to take consistent action and complete each task before you begin another.

One step at a time… one task at a time… one day at a time… one goal at a time. Specific tasks and goals breed success. You have dreams to birth so here are some tips about goals and goal setting that will keep you on track or get you on the right path concerning planning…

Relationships of all kinds are often perceived as very delicate things, that require extra effort to maintain. However, a relationship can also be something that can provide security and can also be long lasting despite many trying times together.  Success in business requires the ability to network.

Building an effective and lasting relationship is a necessity for several reasons. For example in a group or organization, the well being of the people depends on how efficient and effective that group or organization works.  This also affects the quality of work and productivity and success of a business, online or offline.

The group or organization is also dependent on how the members work well with the management.   Whether you are dealing with corporate America or are a small business owner wearing many hats… you must learn how to build business relationships if you want to be a success.

An ineffective group or organization can really be very frustrating. An effective group or organization can also ask so much on their members, that sometimes the members feel as though they have no life outside the walls of the area where they work.  They may sacrifice the other aspects of their life just to meet deadlines. For an organization or group with this kind of scenario, relationships can be stressed or suffer from breakdown.  Eventually the success of the business will be effective as productivity decreases over time and moral is broken.

People or other entities who depend on these groups or organization also suffer.

Society is defined as a web of relationships, which requires all parties to work and contribute their share in order to achieve a common goal. Having a relationship that is good, where cooperation and respect are manifested, can make society work better. In this way each member works for the good of the whole and towards achieving a common goal. This type of business success can only be attained with effective and efficient relationships.

Understanding the other parties’ feeling and position creates an effective and efficient business relationship. The easiest method to understand what is important to another party is to ask them what they want and listen to what they have to say. When the other party realizes this, they would feel the importance given to them

Effective and efficient relationships require parties to openly express their feelings and positions on all matters pertinent on the relationship. Assuming that the other party understands our needs and give us when we need it without asking for it is not a good practice.

Respect is the key to relationship. In order to create a more effective and successful relationship, parties should treat each other with respect. We can show respect just by listening to the other party and by trying sincerely to understand how they function. You can also show respect to other parties by confirming that they are doing everything they can.

The opposite of respect is quick forming of judgements based on unfounded facts and prejudice.

Respect is the very foundation for a great relationship. This also means respecting yourself and respecting others.

Another key area in forming an effective relationship is to tackle differences of the other party directly. Differences between parties or people are quite interesting. For example in a conversation where each party listens to the other party, you may observe that each is having two different perspectives.

Work towards a win-win solution for both parties.  Compromise can also breed or signal success in business.

This can be done when at least one party acknowledges that the relationship is important. That party would then exert more time, effort and energy to understand the other party’s needs and deal with it to get it out of the way. Should they fail, it is comforting for that party to know that they tried.

Effectively listening and no pre-judging. This is important if parties are to understand each other.

Informal discussions are conducive for parties. They bring out issues and concerns comfortably. They also feel more relaxed making them think more clearly.

Developing an atmosphere where the other party can express their feelings when they need to.

When parties fail to express whatever is on their mind or their feelings, it can get in the way of building an effective relationship.

Parties should be aware that certain things exist naturally but should be controlled in any dealings in any relationship. Human nature is one. Some of these things found in a relationship also include a history of stereotyping or mistrust, blaming the other person or party for a strained relationship, excluding the other party’s feelings when focusing on a task, no clear and defined objectives, roles and expectations of each party in a relationship is also unclear.

Relationships are important to anyone, addressing issues and problems right away is a must to further improve the relationship. As they say ‘No man is an Island’.

Time Management Is The Foundation Of Long Term Success.  It Is Basically About Being Focused.

The Pareto Principle also known as the ‘80:20 Rule’ states that 80% of efforts that are not time managed or unfocused generates only 20% of the desired output. However, 80% of the desired output can be generated using only 20% of a well time managed effort. Although the ratio ‘80:20′ is only arbitrary, it is used to put emphasis on how much is lost or how much can be gained with time management.

Some people view time management as a list of rules that involves scheduling of appointments, goal settings, thorough planning, creating to do lists and prioritizing. These are the core basics of time management and should be understood to develop an efficient personal time management skill. These basic skills can be fine tuned further, to include the finer points of each skill adding the extra effort that gets the results you desire.

But there are more skills involved in time management than the core basics. Skills such as decision making, inherent abilities such as emotional intelligence and critical thinking are also essential to your personal growth.

Personal time management involves everything you do. No matter how big and no matter how small, everything counts. Each new knowledge you acquire, each new advice you consider, each new skill you develop should be taken into consideration, processed and incorporated into your style.

Having a balanced lifestyle should be the key result in having personal time management. This is the main aspect that many practitioners of personal time management fail to grasp.

Time management is about getting results, not about being busy!

Preparation for success does not have to take a long time, nor does it have to be super intense. On the other hand, preparation can be natural part of your growth process taking the years, or it can be like an bootcamp training of concentration and focus to birth your goals, dreams and destiny.

One situation that you should prepare for… no matter your chosen or destined path to the door of success… is to take the time to write down your “story” and discern the angle that you will present it so that others can grasp and understand it’s relevance and significance to their world.

Success is many times about who you know. You may only get one chance to present yourself, your idea, your hopes, dreams or cause. You should be able to sum up in 3 sentences and as much minutes what you are about and where you are going, including the how and why! That folks is called the elevator pitch.

Now I have to be honest here about my journey toward success… I have not prepared my “elevator speech” but I do know my values, goals, dreams, and desires. Whether or not I could communicate it quickly and effectively if I met a mentor or angel investor…? Remains to be seen…

The second technique that you should begin to master now… before you obtain success… your moment in the sun… is to prepare your story… a 30-60 minute speech… a presentation that you can be ready to deliver at a moment’s notice when you are swept onto the road called destiny.

This 30-60 minute talk will open doors for you. Success. It will allow you to showcase your skills, your expertise, your story, your product showcase… whatever it is that you want to communicate. Make sure that you add a personal element to your speech. That is why I refer to it as your “story.”
People will listen better, hear more clearly, and respond positively, if they can feel the humanity in your talk.

Get prepared for your chance of a lifetime! What you believe you can conceive. The more prepared you are… the more likely amd quickly your dreams of success can be manifest.

During the last couple of days I have had some down time to reflect on my progress… in business… in my goal setting strategies… and in my personal development. I can see both success and failure. I can choose to focus on the failure thinking that will help me improve in areas where I lack success.

But as we strive for business success or personal success, it is good to look for success stories to teach us how to reach our goals and chosen destiny. We should know by now that what you focus upon you emulate, propagate or become. What you set before your eyes you will naturally gravitate toward. What you see and hear daily you eventually believe. If your self talk is negative… you will “walk out” or “bring to pass” these feelings and defeatist actions will not lag far behind.

Success is indeed possible if we understand how to use key tools that are available to you and I. Of course planning and goal setting are near the top of the list of must haves. Motivation is another key element to your success… you must put people, places and things, in place to help you stay mtoivated and live up to your potential. A third key element, which must be used at the birthing of a desire is vision. Your vision must also be revisited often so that you can remain focused or re-adjust your plan or procedures.

We are going to create our own success story to encourage and propel us into a greater dimension toward our destiny.

So here are three exercises that you can do to capture your vision, re-focus and adjust your goals or plan, and keep your motivation for success. Set aside a few minutes of private time to reflect. Grab a pen and pad of paper and make notes.

Exercise One:

Picture Your Life… And Success… As You Want It To Be…

Ask yourself the following questions - In your wildest, happiest dreams, what does a typical day look like for you? What defines success for you? Where do you live? What do you do? What is your schedule like? What are you doing? How much time do you spend with family? What are your hobbies? Where do you vacation? How often? Name a few luxuries that you see in your wildest dream. What kind of toys do you have?

Take this seriously. Imagine this is your chance to make your dreams come true… so what are your dreams? If you cannot express your desires - or envision them - you will never have the motivation to obtain them. Close your eyes for a minute and visualize the lifestyle that you began to imagine above. See it. Feel it. Hear it. Smell it. Live it. Good job. You have ignited and recharged your spirit as you were “seeing” with your “minds eye” what you want to be.

Exercise Two:

How Much Money Do You Need To Earn For Your Dreamy Lifestyle Of Success?

Don’t panic and do not get negative on me now! Do some basic math and decide the following… How much money will you need to earn each and every month for the rest of your life to support this lifestyle? Things always cost more than you think they will so make you sure that you allow more than enough to get your dream lifestyle of success.

Create a number that will easily and thoroughly get you and yours all the toys, vacations, and luxuries that you desire. You cannot move on until you figure out and write down how much you want to earn each month!

Exercise Three:

Honestly… If You Keep Doing What You’ve Always Done…Will You have The Lifestyle Of Success That You Desire?

You need to be hard on yourself with that question. No denial. No dodging the truth. Face it. This is a private exercise so you need to be honest so that you can truly change anything that needs to change.

If you keep doing things the same way… will you EVER be able to meet that dream income that your success will demand? Most folks would have to say absolutely not! Don’t feel bad. be glas that you have the guts and courage to take stock of your situation now and make the changes needed.

The sad truth is very few people will ever realize the life of their dreams because they are on the wrong path… or do not even have a plan to go anywhere at all. They are wandering and wondering in the wilderness as a lost soul or a ship without a sail. It is not their fault.

Schools do not teach us principles for success. Schools do not even acknowledge in their studies the character traits or discipline necessary for success. If you do not have a strong, unusually wise upbringing, a deep desire for personal development, or a wealthy mentor… your chances of creating success that dreams are made of… will be slight.

The good news is that… you are different. How do I know? You are motivated and disciplined enough to read this. You are not common like the rest. You obviously can picture yourself, your life… new and improved. The lifestyle of success that you desire can happen!

Speak Success.  Hear Success.  Feel Success.  See Success. You can live the lifestyle of success that you desire! Just do it! Get started today!

So I won’t be adding a very useful post tonight. A hurricane is brewing… and I am sorta distracted so much that I can’t concentrate to write. If the power does not go off tomorrow (No power… No air… ugh) then I will try to write something intelligent.

The rain has been hard but this is really just a baby storm this time… I think.  I usually leave and go somewhere and have fun if a hurricane is coming our way - but this one slipped in really quickly - like a bad dream, I became paralyzed the 24 hours before it began and didn’t make a decision to leave before it started.  

Now I am stuck here (bored & frustrated) like a sitting duck for a few days. Most ducks like water - but not this one!

Just like any hardship or storm in our life… this too will pass.

We’ll have to see what happens!

Some goals involve many tasks and could become overwhelming if you do not plan and understand the stages required in your journey to success. Do not grow weary in the process of meeting your intended goal. As you see each of your goals met you will gain self-confidence and gain an awareness of your competence. Confidence and competence together are a winners trademark. Success upon success… that is how great wealth, companies. corporations and empires are built. But it all starts with an implemented plan… stemming from a series of goals.

Whether you have big ideas, large projects or small tasks, you need to keep track of it all… learn to write it all down and track your progress. You can achieve all that you desire to achieve with a plan… and the proper use of goal setting.

You can now purchase software that will rate the popularity
of keywords and phrases by giving words a number rating
based on real search engine activity. Software such as
WordTracker will even suggest variations of your words and
phrases. The higher the number this software assigns to a
given keyword, the more traffic you can logically expect to
be directed to your site. The only fallacy with this
concept is the more popular the keyword is, the greater the
search engine position you will need to obtain. If you are
down at the bottom of the search results, the consumer will
probably never scroll down to find you.

Popularity isn’t enough to declare a keyword a good choice.
You must move on to the next criteria, which is
specificity. The more specific your keyword is, the greater
the likelihood that the consumer who is ready to purchase
your goods or services will find you.

Let’s look at a hypothetical example. Imagine that you have
obtained popularity rankings for the keyword “automobile
companies.” However, you company specializes in bodywork
only. The keyword “automobile body shops” would rank lower
on the popularity scale than “automobile companies,” but it
would nevertheless serve you much better. Instead of
getting a slew of people interested in everything from
buying a car to changing their oil filters, you will get
only those consumers with trashed front ends or crumpled
fenders being directed to your site.

In other words, consumers ready to buy your services are
the ones who will immediately find you. Not only that, but
the greater the specificity of your keyword is, the less
competition you will face.

The third factor is consumer motivation. Once again, this
requires putting yourself inside the mind of the customer
rather than the seller to figure out what motivation
prompts a person looking for a service or product to type
in a particular word or phrase.

Let’s look at another example, such as a consumer who is
searching for a job as an IT manager in a new city.

If you have to choose between “Seattle job listings” and
“Seattle IT recruiters” which do you think will benefit the
consumer more? If you were looking for this type of specific
job, which keyword would you type in? The second one,
of course!

Using the second keyword targets people who have decided
on their career, have the necessary experience, and are ready
to enlist you as their recruiter, rather than someone just out
of school who is casually trying to figure out what to do with his
or her life in between beer parties. You want to find people
who are ready to act or make a purchase, and this requires
subtle tinkering of your keywords until your find the most
specific and directly targeted phrases to bring the most
motivated traffic to you site.

Once you have chosen your keywords, your work is not done.
You must continually evaluate performance across a variety
of search engines, bearing in mind that times and trends
change, as does popular lingo. You cannot rely on your log
traffic analysis alone because it will not tell you how
many of your visitors actually made a purchase.

Luckily, some new tools have been invented to help you
judge the effectiveness of your keywords in individual
search engines. There is now software available that
analyzes consumer behavior in relation to consumer traffic.
This allows you to discern which keywords are bringing you
the most valuable customers.

This is an essential concept: numbers alone do not make a
good keyword; profits per visitor do. You need to find
keywords that direct consumers to your site who actually
buy your product, fill out your forms, or download your
product. This is the most important factor in evaluating
the efficacy of a keyword or phrase, and should be the
sword you wield when discarding and replacing ineffective
or inefficient keywords with keywords that bring in better
profits.

Ongoing analysis of tested keywords is the formula for
search engine success. This may sound like a lot of work -
and it is! But the amount of informed effort you put into
your keyword campaign is what will ultimately generate your
business’ rewards.

A - Achieve your dreams. To do so you should avoid negative people, things and places. Eleanor Roosevelt once said, “the future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams.”

B - Believe in yourself, and in what you can do. You have to believe in you when others are not supportive. What you believe you are… you will become.

C - Consider every angle and aspect. Motivation comes from determination. To be able to understand life, you need a proper perspective. You need to examine both sides of the coin to be fair and balanced.

D - Don’t give up and don’t give in. Thomas Edison failed once, twice, more than thrice, before he came up with his invention and perfected the incandescent light bulb. Celebrate each step of the journey… no matter how small or seemingly insignificant… this powers your self determination, keeping your engine running, keeping your focus pure.

E - Enjoy. Work as if you don’t need money. Dance as if no one is watching. Love as if you never cried. Learn as if you’ll live forever. Motivation takes place when people are happy. Don’t worry… just be happy.

F - Family and Friends - are life’s greatest treasures. Don’t lose sight of them.

G - Give more than just enough. Where does motivation and self improvement take place at work? At home? At school? When you exert extra effort in doing things. In time you will begin to get rewarded for a job well done.

N - Never lie, cheat or steal. Always play a fair game. What comes around goes around. We eat the harvest that we plant. Nurture integrity in your life.

O - Open your eyes. Observe your surroundings and the people around you. Learn from their opinions and errors. But stay true to your self.

P - Practice makes perfect. Practice is about motivation. It lets us learn repertoire and ways how we can recover from our mistakes.

Q - Quitters never win. And winners never quit. So, choose your destiny - are you going to be a quitter? Or a winner? Be unique and win!

R - Ready yourself. Motivation is also about preparation. We must hear the little voice within us telling us to get started, preparing and planning will keep us steady on our feet. If others try to push us around we will not fall or fal easily. Remember, it wasn’t raining when Noah built the ark.

S - Stop procrastinating. Stop whining… Stop the negative self talk. So just do it!

T - Take control of your life. Discipline or self control jives synonymously with motivation. Both are key factors in self improvement.

U - Understand others. If you know very well how to talk, you should also learn how to listen. Yearn to understand first, and to be understood the second. This makes you wise and strong.

V - Visualize it. Motivation without vision is like a boat on a dry land. Visualize and dream daily. Place those pictures in your work space so that you can stay highly motivated!

W - Want it more than anything. Dreaming means believing. And to believe is the root. You have that tiny root already in you. Grow and develop it by building on your dreams. Motivation and self improvement will follow.

X - X Factor is that special thing will make you different from all the others. When you are motivated, you tend to have energy for the “extras” in your life. You lifestyle improves providing you the extra time for family, extra help at work, extra care for friends, and so on.

I recently heard a song on a Christian radio station by a band… Hmmm, I can’t remember their name… I’ll have to ask my son.  Anyway, I’m driving down the road and the lyrics are screaming out at me… “This is your life… Are  you who you want to be?”  Over and over again that phrase repeats with electric guitars emphasizing the fact that we need to stop and think about our life, and if we are who we wanna be. 

Now, it seems that song is on the radio every time I get in my car… Or maybe it has been playing for some time, I have just gotten in tune with it, and my ears are open to… change… and wisdom.  Yeah… Wisdom from a 20 year old kid on the radio who wrote a song with a depth well beyond his own understanding.

As we get older (and hopefully wiser) we begin to adjust and tweak and see things a little bit clearer.  Our eyes may grow dim, our vison can blur, but our understanding has grown sharper and we have an opportunity to adjust our focus, as we notice what once was, is not now, and what will be is in our hands.

Take charge of… and responsibility for… your environment, your corner of the world, your business, your income, your knowledge base, your relationships… your future!  You hold the whole world in your hands.  In Sunday School we used to sing “He holds the whole world in His hands… and I know that ulitimately He does.  Thank God. 

But we cannot neglect our responsiblity and assignment to make our world a better place with the gifts, talents, monies, and wisdom that is deposited in each one of us.  Everyone is gifted in a way that requires them to bring something to the table.

I am re-adjusting some of my goals to match my values and I hope that you will find time to do the same.  Life is precious and it is a gift.  I want to use mine wisely and effectively to help those in need and I’m guessing if you stop and do any reflecting or goal setting after you read this… you will re-evaluate your situation too.

You can do all that you set out in your heart to do.  Just make sure that what your heart desires will add and not detract.  Give and not take.  Love and not hate.  Bless and not curse.  Go create wealth… and then be generous.  Get to the top of the ladder, just do not step on those beneath you.  Expand and multiply your family, your business, your net worth… then give to your community.

Sorry for the sermonette… I sound kind of preachy.  I am very mellow and content right now as I do a self inspection, hearing that tune play round and round in my head “This is your life… Are you who you want to be?”

I’m really just sharing what’s on my heart and my reason for putting it here is to encourage you to be your best.  Do your best, believe for the best and the rest will come.

Some months ago I bought the domain 21st Century Capitalism.com And I have felt the hate and resentment in our culture as of late, toward those who prosper or desire to create wealth… to the point that I did not develop the domain because of the stigma that could be attached to it.

As far as the Biblical context of money… in the Old Testament (the roots of the Christian church) the reward for those who loved God and whom God loved… was wealth. The richest men in the world were those favored by God. Maybe some “religious” people resent wealth… although in some religious circles that is changing. God doesn’t begrudge us that right. He is the “giver of good gifts.” He is the giver of “abundant life.”

Visions Of… Elvis, Bill Gates, And Site Traffic

I am seeing visions in my head of the past… images of Elvis in his white pantsuit (I’m really not that old, I swear), DOS games, floppy disks, Pac man, Centipede… Get the picture? It’s really amazing how our fads and cultural preferences change… sometimes swiftly and so very completely.

That’s why I worry about the females of this generation. I refer to today’s youth as the “tattoo generation” and not in an endearing way. My own teens have been conniving enough (successfully I might add) to brand their bodies to prove… something. I often tell them all they are doing is providing proof to future generations, of the decade that they were born in. They will want to look 10-20 years younger, but the tattoo will be telling, and the next generation will think tattoos are totally tacky and lame.

I mean, I know an old hippie when I see one, and I know the stereotype . (Hippies are a generation ahead of me, so I considered them… well, I won’t say it cause now a lot of them wear suits, they are CEO’s or are parading in government as wise men . But I find it strange no one wants to look like an enlightened, dirty, stringy haired, or afro wearing, rebellious, leisure suit dude anymore. Not “too kool” nowadays, “man.”

Change Is… Good?

So what does all this casual talk have to do with site traffic? Hmmm. Let me try to piece my scattered thoughts together in a cohesive way. I guess my point is this; what is good today is not necessarily gonna work tomorrow. What is cool today, may be tomorrows stupid joke. In terms of lifestyle… in terms of culture… in terms of the internet. Let’s talk about the internet

Marquees and falling hearts and jumping bunnies across web pages were fun and ultra web pages were built… genius coders were admired and webmasters flaunted their skill, as gawkers would parade through, being site traffic to the few who knew how to do html.

Just a few short years ago, we were amazed at this magic picture box the internet, made available to the masses because of Bill Gates and “Windows” I remember looking at my very first tiny fat monitor, when my new windows computer was finally ready. (I first had to load an infinite number of programs on floppies, before it could be used.)

The black screen with the windows logo began to appear and then the magic began. I felt like I was literally being transported. I knew a whole new world was waiting for me. I understood that a “A New World” would be now be at my fingertips. Like a pioneer, I began to explore the tiny fat box in front of me. All that was before DSL, and Cable, and Wireless Networks, but I instinctively knew that this little fat box was my ticket to knowledge, to power, and to the world. Site traffic was not even in my, nor Google’s vocabulary. There was no Google. Of course, all I did that first year was learn… some great, useful, Microsoft programs and a few games … I had no need to know more… yet.

MySpace Rules…

If you look at the state of the internet today, it is an entirely different animal. Marquees and falling hearts and jumping bunnies across web pages are not considered cool, but tacky and lame. Old useless stuff, no longer effective, a blast from the past. I look at some of the MySpace profiles today, and I smile to myself as I realize that an “tweens” and younger are going to sneer at the teens/twenties of today and their bold, artistic, online efforts. These crude, shocking, MySpace web pages bring site traffic today, but will be scorned tomorrow.

With the advent of WEB 2.0 and social media, marketing and getting site traffic becomes quite a stimulating and at the same time frustrating chore. So many various web sites are coming online, it is both a marketers dream and nightmare. It is hard to keep up with the pace of the racing technology of the 21st Century… but if you earn cash with an online business… it is imperative.

Online Business And Offline Business’ Need Internet Marketing To Survive

Even if you have a traditional brick and mortar offline business… it would behoove you to get on board and learn internet marketing, or hire a specialist to guide you throught the turbulent, changing waters, as new territory is being charted every day.

Well, here are some basics for building traffic that you would be wise to implement and learn about. It may seem difficult or complicated now, but in time you will see that these are very simple procedures to use to get site traffic. The wonderful thing is… did I mention that they are all free?

I have a few basic notes about each method of building site traffic:

1. Blog Comments

Blogs are HOT! Search engines like words. Do a google blog search (they have a nice directory) and find the blogs with loads of site traffic. Leave relevant comments in them! Do this on a regular basis and you will not only look really smart, be considered as some sort of expert (unless you leave really stupid posts, which is possible, I suppose.) You get site traffic from posts.

2. Article Marketing

Article marketing has been referred to as ‘bum marketing.” Maybe because it’s free? This is a very effective way to get your site traffic moving. Other webmasters or business owners use your article on their site - this is free syndication - and your bio box at the bottom of the short article has a link back to your site. This helps you in the search engine, establishes you as an expert, and helps that website visitor find you if your information is interesting or relevant.

Another positive to getting site traffic from article writing or article marketing is that you can tailor the article as you wish and lead the reader to the bottom of the article where you could make a simple offer and many will, out of need or curiosity, click and buy. Especially if your article is interesting and informative. So if you enjoy writing little blurbs, put it in a word pad and submit it to article directories! Articles are like seeds. Planting takes some effort and time, but the reward is worth it!

3. Forum Posting

This strategy is really very easy to implement and it is free: sign up for a forum that is within your “niche” or interest and start posting! Be polite and sensitive to others, offering practical advise, solutions, and goodwill, and this will establish you as an expert. You should start to get tons of traffic through that. Your “signature file,” which will be at the bottom of each post, will identify you and your chosen link. Simple.

4. Email Signature

You send email right? You should have a signature that goes out with all of your correspondence. Look in the help section of your favorite email provider and they will give you instructions on how to create one. Remember we want site traffic and this is just a simple way (like a business card) that you can expose your business or product to others… and it too, is free. Granted you will not get “hordes” of traffic from this, but it is the professional thing to do. Here I am up again at 3:00 am. Seems to be a habit I can’t break lately. So I mosey over to my laptop and see the twitter widget on my Vista screen. Willie Crawford’s likeness is staring up at me… looks like he just made a post on his marketing blog. As I read it I laugh out loud because I see myself in his post. “Are You A Mister (Ms) Know-It-All?”

Now I certainly do not consider myself a know it all when it comes to internet marketing (my background credentials include “work at home mom” and television. I have much yet to learn about internet and network marketing, but his post reminded me of some of the downfalls and bad patterns that I struggle with in business and in life.

Site traffic is crucial to the success of any business. There are as many ways to get targeted traffic as there are ways to make money online. A method that works for one business or entrepreneur may not be as easy to profit from for another business or website owner. Not because the method is “bad” or “wrong.” Most likely it is because that particular site traffic method does not fit well with the work patterns, style, or patience of the user.

Even as the “new” WEB 2.0 methods, for getting site traffic, are creating a big splash online, there are still traditional forms of advertising or “getting the word out” that are very effective and are free. One seemingly forgotten method of getting site traffic that has been ignored lately is classified advertising.

An inexpensive form of advertising to bring in targeted site traffic, classified advertising is very effective, free or low cost, and simple.

Getting website traffic with classified advertising is easy if you use creative targeted ads. You can use community newpapers and online classified directorys sites, some of which I will talk about later.

If you want to generate leads online or get potential customers to your optin form then classified advertising would probably be effective for you. Posting can get tedious (as can be forum posting, blog commenting, and other social media site traffic methods) but if you organize your posting site information, create a plan and manage your time well, a few minutes a day can bring in good results.

Online classified advertising can get somewhat competitive, as it is free and easy, but if you create stunning adverts or use compelling text headlines, you can find your own sweet spot in the classified world. There are tons of industry magazines and niche periodicals which you can use to drive traffic to your site, but this article is focused on free online classified advertising.

Sites And Money Used To Drive Traffic

Craigslist is the leading website for classified advertising at the moment. It is huge and allows you to place local, regional or national ads, depending on your technique and game plan. There are strict rules about this though as spam is not permitted. There are “bots” available which can autopost for you… I have not tried them so I do not know how effective they are. 1. Start today with Craigslist. You will need an account with a valid email address and phone number. Select your city and choose an appropriate category. Make sure you read the rules so that you do not overdo it and get your account suspended.
2. Make sure that your ad has a great headline. FREE and HOW TO are very good words to include as we all like FREE and we all want to know HOW TO! These words will provoke curiosity and give your reader a reason to click.
3. As I mentioned before, you can always outsource the writing or posting to one of many online companies who do this all day long for a nominal fee.
4. Track and monitor your ads and see if your words are converting into clicks or prospects. Try several different ads (after all it is FREE) and see which ads get the best response. Use Google Analaytics to track your website or webpage so that you can know more about your daily site traffic.

This is all about numbers. You should see a pattern begin to develop and then you can adjust your post workload according to your expectation and needs. Obviously everyone will not buy your product, read your awesome blog, optin for a free gift, or even click on your ad.  That’s just business.  But if getting site traffic through free classified advertising feels like a good fit in your overall marketing strategy in making money online…  You need to go for it!

Famous article directories have LOTS of targeted traffic. Thousands of people go to Article Directories to source for content (e.g. for your local newspaper).

Similar to the new, popular, high traffic Blogs, Article Directories also allow you to brand yourself as an expert.

Some Article Directories rank high on the search engines - allowing your author bio to rank high on the SERP (search engine result page) and it even passes the PR (page rank) juice to your websites.

Write an article about a product or subject related to your website. (If you can’t or prefer not to write, don’t worry… you can pay someone as low as $5 to get a quality article written for you.)

Once your article is complete, do a search on Google for the search term - “Article Directory.”

Google… A List Of Article Directories

Choose one of them and register as an author or an article writer and contribute your article to the directory. It might take a few days or even a week to get an article approved, so make sure you are prepared to be patient as you will most likely wait.

Once your article is approved, it will remain on the ‘front page’ of that particular niche for a couple of days before it is ‘pushed down’ by newer article submissions.

Article Marketing… A Free And Low Cost Way To Huge Web Traffic

One of the advantages of Article Directory submissions is that you can take the same article and author bio and re-use them over and over again.

What you can do is to ‘cut-and-paste’ the article and post the article to a list of article directories (Use Google to search for Article Directories.)

Occasionally, you may find the process too tedious. No problem! You can outsource the submission process to someone else for a low price of $27-37 dollars and they will submit that article for you to a few hundred directories.

If your article is well written, employing this outsourcing method will send a HUGE surge of traffic to your website so you must be prepared. This will not last forever because the articles do not remain on the top page all the time. That is one reason you want to commit to this type of traffic generation technique on an ongoing basis. You do need to either have writing skills or have the ability and motivation to outsource the writing and or submission process to someone else.

Make sure that you are not too ‘sales pitchy’ about your product or your website because some Article Directories are particular about the quality of the articles. They are after all, looking for quality content, not another sales letter.

The Reward… Web Site Traffic

Remember… whether you enjoy writing - or not - is not the issue. Anyone can do Article Marketing and it is an excellent method of generating traffic to your website, blog or product sales page. You are planting seeds all over the internet that will bring back a harvest of traffic to your site. It is well worth the effort.

There are three question that I will attempt to answer in this particular segment.

What Is Article Marketing?

Article Marketing is a time tested, proven method of writing and distributing original articles, created by you as author, your company, or a paid ghostwriter, with the intent of promoting your products, your organization, your brand or your website. In submitting good articles, you have the chance of getting prequalified or targeted visitors, also known as “traffic” back to your website.

We need to keep in mind some key elements as we engage in Article Marketing.

3 KEYS TO ARTICLE MARKETING

1. You need to position yourself as an expert in your niche. You do this by creating great, original content. Try to write it yourself or at least attempt to have it carry your “voice” or that of your brand, if you parse the writing out.
2. In the body of the article you do not promote or sell your product or service at all. Resist the temptation to do this. Your purpose in the body of the 300-700 word article, is to provide good, useful information to your reader. You will see later in this article when and how you get to promote yourself, your product, services, or site. Offer good solid information to the niche audience that you are trying to appeal to, and you will be rewarded as well as regarded as, an expert. This will build the trust necessary to position yourself, possibly receiving loyal customers or sales later.
3. If you desire to get a steady stream of traffic back to your website, you will need to submit good, original content very frequently. Think of these articles as seeds. The sooner you plant - the sooner your harvest comes to fruition. The more you plant - the bigger your resulting harvest will be.

The Obvious Question Remains…

I am sure the big question looming in your mind is:

“If I cannot promote myself, my products, services, or brand in the article… why do it? If I can’t make a sales pitch or promote, what do I get from all this work?”

The answer is very simple. You use the article body only to share your knowledge and expertise about a subject niche. At the end of the article body you will create a “Resource Box” which will provide you the opportunity to make your sales pitch, point someone to your website, send them to a product page, or send them to a sign up form so that you can collect their email address for future mailings.

A Method That Gets Response

One method which will build your business includes, offering a FREE gift, enticing the reader to sign up for a “Special Report,” an audio or video file, attached to an “opt-in” form. This way you can stay in touch with your reader, allowing you to build a future client customer relationship.

Use your creative skills to persuade the reader to click the links(s) you have placed in your Resource Box. Keep the links and subject matter relevant to the article. This insures the likelihood of your reader visiting your web site link. In other words, if you write about your niche, you are getting a built in target audience.

There are many article directories to submit your content to. I would recommend that you do a google search for “Article Directories.” Make sure you read the submission guidelines for each that you choose to distribute through, as they all have their own rules which can vary greatly and you don’t want your article rejected over a minor issue.

Article Marketing is a great way to garner traffic to your website. When you submit to the article directories, you give permission for other webmasters in your niche to plant your article in their webpage or blog. You still get credit of course, for the article, and your resource box remains intact. You could say that your content is being syndicated. Your work is definitely being “seeded throughout the internet. When folks type keywords into their Google search looking for information, these article directories show up providing the knowledge that people are seeking. It is a very good thing.

Traffic Methods Of The Future

There are many other new ways to get traffic to your site and the Article Marketing remains a good technique. Lately with all the WEB 2.0 rage, many more interactive types of websites are being created in which you write article pages, putting your own adsense, amazon affiliate links, and so forth on them. Squidoo and Hubpages are two very popular sites which are user friendly.

As the world goes, so goes the internet. Rather, should I say, as the internet goes, so goes the world?  Here’s a riddle…  An always changing beast, requiring to be fed continually, and can change the rules at whim. Hmmm, I could be referring to;

1. Our Government
2. Our Spouses
3. The Internet

Wrong. I am speaking about the latest, greatest beast. Google. I love google. I have to. So do you. If we do not play by the rules of google, then we lose. It’s as simple as that. No whining, crying, or begging , or pleading will change the rules. Google is one beast we have to obey or we will pay, the penalty being “no site traffic.” No site traffic is death to a webmaster, an entrepereneur, an artist, a salesman, a merchant, a corporation, a small business, an internet marketer, a socialite, a social marketer… We all need site traffic.

Someday there will have to be a better way, (come on you genious’ out there, help the little lambs out) than for millions of people typing in a few choice keywords and only getting back a page of 10 choices at a time to sort thru… hours sorting and page clicking… I usually give up after 1 or 2 pages searches (20 links can take a while to click through.)
For instance take the search word phrase “get traffic” (every online websites goal ) there are 26,800,000 webpages that contain those keywords, and people will only have the time or pages to sort through 1, 2, or perhaps 3 pages, which is 30 links, a whole lot of time.

If you are not one of the lucky 10, 20, or 30 websites that get placed at the top of the search pages, or you are not a big rich corporation, you will never get traffic direct from the Google search engine. Luckily there are many creative ways to get site traffic, but even then Google is making the rules which they change as often as they please. If you can’t beat them, join them. So here are things that no longer work. Things not to do to get site traffic.

What Not To Do To Get Site Traffic

1. Play Keyword Paragraph

2. Talk To The Search Engine

3. Make Your Site Flashy(Search Engines Do Not Get Along With Flash

4. Forget The “alt tags” and “desc” On Your Images

5. Hide Keyword In The Background

6. Avoid Making A Sitemap

7. Never Redesign Your Site

8. Never Add New Content

What To Do To Get Site Traffic

1. Be honest with your writing, honest with your content, and honest with your keywords.  Anything less than honest doesn’t deserve to be on the front pages of Google or any search engine. 

2. Write to humans, people like you and I, keeping your tone conversational, simple, and friendly.  Lacing keywords in every sentence, well search engines can now tell if a sentence does not make sense.

3. Google Cannot Read Flash.  Flash may be loved by humans, but it is ignored by search engines, if you get no site traffic, you get no love.
Google loves words. Write, write, write, and if you will not write… hire a writer. 

4. You Will Get Points From Google If You Describe Your Image With A brief Sentence… Using Some Keywords.

5. You Can’t Trick Google - Not For Long.  You want your keywords to show up in your article text about 2% of the time.

6. Google Loves Site Maps!  Create a site map (Google the instructions) and don’t forget to ping Google so they can re-index your site

7. Keep Your Site Fashionable But Professional.  If you have jumping bunnies, trickling hearts, or outdated wallpaper, it’s time to update.

8. Keep It Fresh.  Update your website atleast once a week.  Start a blog.  They make it very easy to stay.  People, and search engines (Google, in particular) love blogs.  Blogspot is good for beginners and wordpress is a more advanced system , which I recommend.

Social Networks such as Youtube, MySpace, Facebook, and twitter are also excellent resources to help you get traffic (did I mention FREE traffic) assisting in propelling your website traffic, with very simple, easy actions. In addition to the fact that you can get free traffic from these websites, comes the bonus that you can set up a personal or company web page on these sites for free. In just a few minutes, to under an hour, you can have a place for your brand on MySpace, Youtube, and Facebook.

I’m quite sure that you have heard all this “get free traffic” business before, but have you acted on it, and is it working for you? I would like to share a super easy cool tip with you and explain somewhat the techniques that you may need to implement. Sometimes we find ourselves doing the right thing, but our method may need to be tweaked in order to reap the promised reward.

Nobody has the time or energy to pour into more projects that will end up dry and fruitless. As we are all very busy nowadays it is important to take the shortcuts, especially when handed to us. I myself tend to be a do-it-yourselfer and that has definitely extended my time in the wilderness, circling the mountain, due to not lack of commitment, but lack of mentoring, and key pieces of the puzzle missing in my knowledge base.

It really is not necessary to pay huge amount of money to get your website to the top of the search heap. Knowledge is power and it can save you mountains of money. Many times it’s because they cannot afford, timewise, to invest the dedication and focus necessary to learn the proper methods for getting FREE traffic. If only they understood that with just a little bit more skill than it takes to use email, they could build their brand, rank extremely high in the search engines… and have fun doing it!

Of course, it has taken some of us years to figure out all of these different methods to get traffic to our website, blogs, and product pages. Hopefully after today, you will have a new tip that you can very quickly absorb (it is so very easy) and implement. The sooner you implement this technique, the sooner you will see results.

I only have time today to write about one very easy method which will take just a few minutes a day. Maybe you can only find time to network using this technique several times a week. That’s okay too. Obviously the time put into it will determine the quality of your results, in your effort to get traffic to your site.

The secret is really just all about building community within the Web 2.0 social media websites. As I mentioned before, the easiest way to generate leads and to get traffic is to comment on high traffic sites winning friends and influencing people. MySpace, Youtube, Facebook and Twitter are online tools that business owners should not be without.

Free leads, unlimited connections, a free webpage - company or individual - sounds like a winner to me. People LOVE and EXPECT Freebies!  I do too. It’s funny how everything online has to be free nowadays… which means only the traditional multi million dollar brick and mortar companies can afford to set up shop online.  (We’ll discuss that later.)  So essentially the internet is becoming very (slyly) corporate with a fake organic facade. 

But I like corporations and capitalism. It just makes it hard for the ordinary person to get their fair share of the internet money pie.  The small guy can still earn money online, though!

Free web pages, free music, free video, free hosting, free software… free articles, free blogs with wonderful free information.  On and on and on. 

Note of course, our cable and telephone companies are getting quite a bit to let us all come online and get everyone else’s sacrificial freebies.  LOL  Now, I wonder if that’s some stock to be investing in.

EXCUSE #7

I AM LOSING FOCUS!

SOLUTION

aah… focus.  I have struggled with this one.  As I mentioned before, do not get on tons of internet marketers email lists or you will be running here and there, buying too much stuff and trying to do every tip and technique and find yourself spinning and getting nowhere fast.  Michael Cheney who personally coached me used this analogy once… Say you have many different cool, unique and beautiful bottles lined up and each one is special and able to provide money for you.  To the side you have a pitcher of tea (or whatever   You begin to try pour a little in this bottle and then move over and pour some in that bottle and on and on you pour into the different bottles.  Well, you only have so much tea to pour… Hmmm

I personally still struggle with this as I tend to want to keep tweaking and perfecting projects, sometimes forgetting that those tweaks will not bring in money.  As a matter of fact, they are time wasters and detractors from the real goal which is to make money online.  So the plan is… one project at a time – followed through to completion. And as for focus, what is the question to ask yourself daily?  Answer: Is this action going to bring in the cash!? 

So there it is!  These are just some of the excuses that I myself, like you, have made, with some very simple solutions.  Your journey, while processing these questions and emotions through the maze of internet marketing, is common and universal.  As you reach for higher levels of skill, understanding, and knowledge, you will become empowered.  Empowered To Prosper!

EXCUSE #4

I AM CONFUSED.  I CAN’T QUITE PUT THE PIECES OF THE PUZZLE TOGETHER

SOLUTION 

It is common to be confused and every marketer has been there, done that, and needsa T-shirt to prove it!  I am by the way designing such a shirt for internet marketers!

One reason that you are confused is because people come into this arena at different skill and knowledge levels and through different marketers who have an expertise in precise areas.  But each level of understanding is necessary in order to build an online cash machine, no matter which expert marketer or focus of study you began with. 

Unfortunately, some of you are forced to take a longer, slower path because of financial impediments.  Those with more money to invest can buy whole systems and learn many different processes at once, which they do have to pay big money for.  The good news about the arena of internet marketing is that anyone can learn this industry, at their own pace and at their own price.  If you pay the price it is most certainly a huge advantage and greatly speeds up your progress. But regardless of how much you spend, you can reach the same destination as the big boys and make money online.

IT IS TAKING TOO LONG TO SEE RESULTS

First of all you need to make sure that you follow the steps in these systems and techniques very closely.  For instance, if you have learned about article marketing aka bum marketing, and have written and submitted your articles, yet have not created a bio or resource box with proper links at the bottom of the article… well, you won’t get the results that you are after.  Also remember that the traffic building tactics that you are using are like seeds.  You are planting consistent seeds each and every day.  The social marketing techniques that are in my ‘Get Social Traffic” system are like seeds.  You must plant daily.  There is a harvest but most likely the bulk of it will not come tomorrow!  It could manifest like popcorn though.

Affiliate marketing is an easy business to get into.   Because of the ease of getting started, the competition is fierce, and you always have to face the fact that the big hitters will already have blasted any new release to their large lists. Having said this, affiliate marketing does have huge advantages, and the greatest of all affiliate marketing resources are the affiliate networks which allow you to choose from thousands of different products to promote. The ability to switch campaigns so easily is vital. Compare this to a product developer who has to spend a lot of money, or hours of time, developing each product.

With affiliate marketing, it is easy to abandon unprofitable campaigns, and move on. The most important factor is to have your own website, where you have total control over the content. Don’t try to use the lazy way of sending visitors to a landing page. You need your own website or blog to maintain a reasonable quality score if you are using pay per click campaigns, and you also need it to submit articles to the best directories. Article marketing is one of the most long standing, proven methods of driving traffic to your campaigns.

Article marketing is really a must if you want to succeed as an affiliate. Even if you don’t want to write the articles yourself, you will find that dollars spent hiring a quality ghost writer to do the job for you are likely to produce a better return than dollars spent on any other form of advertising. More valuable resources for affiliate marketers are the discussion forums. These forums are the perfect place to find people that you know will be interested in your subject. Again, you should have your own website, as many forums won’t allow the blatant promotion of affiliate links.

The final resource is also free to create, and can be very effective. If you use a free PDF creator, you can create a free ebook to give away, which will contain your affiliate links. The main consideration here is to choose an established product, because you can’t change the links in an ebook you have already given away, as you can on your own website. These viral ebooks can be making money for you with no effort on your part once you have given them out, and they can become one of your most valuable affiliate marketing resources.

Avoid Being Adamant & Arrogant

Quite often we come across people who are adamant and unyielding and
keep on insisting that a task cannot be done simply because they are
unable to do it themselves. Management, supervisors and bosses who
have job seniority may come across this way. Change is hard for many
people. Some are not adaptable.

It is good to surround yourself with others who are fluid and flexible. You
may find that these friends, family members or co-workers are also more
positive than the stubborn fellow. Many are this way out of fear. It could be
a sign of a lack of confidence and fear of loss of control or power. It could
also signal an attitude of over confidence and ego. Either way, these
people tend to destroy the creativity and growth of everyone and everything
around them.

Do everything you can to partner and work, live and play with people with a
positive vision. People who think like you, with hopes and goals and
visions and dreams.

If you happen to fall into this category be prepared to change. This attitude
is not going to be helpful to you in anyway. It will destroy those you love
and those you work with. No one wants to be known as a self proclaimed
know it all. No one wants to be perceived as a stubborn fool.

We are all capable of thinking our way is right. Maybe it is. But our way is
NOT the only way. It is just another way. Our own time tested proven
way… but it may not be the best way.

You should be prepared to listen to the advice and views of others even if it
comes from your subordinates in your work place. This can be hard. You
may work with fools & clowns - cheats & slackers. Most people though, do
have a very valuable gem hidden inside them … it may be their time to
shine. Let them. Accept the advice, change your views and accomplish
the task. You will end up happy and successful. Everyone wins.

Life is full of challenges and often when a crucial situation arises, we must decide as to how we should deal with our competitors, rivals and adversaries.  This is true in any business including internet marketing and sales.  Have you not come across many people who work with the sole objective of crushing and destroying their rivals, competitors or the opposition, to succeed in life? How we make the best use of our days here is after all, left to us and us alone. We know only too well that life is not a bed of roses. There are problems to be faced, challenges to be encountered and the solutions are found in our day to day activities.  How then should we live our life and adapt a life style for an enjoyable and a “happy” life? There are two arenas where we must play and we should consider both.

THE PERSONAL SIDE OF “HAPPY”
Living In The Moment

There are certain things in life that cannot be changed or corrected. There is no point thinking and worrying about them. The past is the past and it has passed. It is now history. It can no longer be changed. The future is uncertain. Although we must hope, then, plan and strive…no one can foretell what the future beholds. Life does throw us curve balls. As we gain in age and life experience, we change with it and our pain and the surprises that we are confronted with, do make us much better… if we do not allow them to make us bitter.  What we really need to do is embrace the NOW. The present is certain.  Success and happiness is proven by what you can do and can achieve now. The ancient Scripture says, “Line upon line, precept upon precept.”

Every step we make today toward our goal and purpose, makes the “success” that we desire closer to reality.  If you consider children, or the vibrant compelling energy of young people, you will see that they are not encumbered with the burdens of life, or the cares and responsibilities of adulthood. They seem “happy.” Well, in their simplicity and innocent ignorance, they are happy, but they are really acting out a natural response to their day and their play… something very basic and simple. They are living IN THE MOMENT.

As adults we do forget how to play. Sometimes we forget how to laugh.  And many times we are not living for today. I know I find myself often living for the future. I like to plan and think ahead and hope and… I am a serious dreamer. This takes me away from living in the moment… from enjoying and appreciating people and daily pleasures… from enjoying the simple and wonderful things that I have already obtained or been given… from just being thankful. Not living in the moment prevents me from being happy today!

Life is a stage and you are the main character of your story. So act well and play your part with confidence, dedication, and determination. The actions that we display today project our current state as well as our future success. The future is dependent on what you do in the present. No one can go back to make a fresh new start. But with a new attitude and a right heart, we can make a fresh new start TODAY. You can start right now to make your life happy.

Give yourself a break and just for a while, LIVE IN THE MOMENT.

JUST DO IT and you will begin to feel it!

Building any business is really hard work. If you can’t attract internet users to your site, you will eventually fail. Do all of your work to make the business a success. You must not get discouraged easily. Having your own business means that you will have to work hard and you must have the right business attitude, the right tools, and the right plan.

I don’t know about you but as I get older, the days seem to be getting shorter.  No, this is not a blog post about aging, although I do have a lot to say about that!

I am about to confess my biggest hang up… the struggle that I have been dealing with for some time now… My hardest struggle right now is focus. No, not the eyes silly - I told you that this is not about age -
but it is about vision.  I talk about my losing focus in one of my personal diary videos where I was documenting my coaching progress with master guru internet marketer Michael Cheney…

It seems every time I begin to gain momentum on a project, in my work, in my LIFE, something comes along to knock me down while I’m busy climbing the mountain, and then I waste days, or weeks, trying to regain focus, energy or momentum. This coaching commitment with Michael has been no exception as I have faced several absolutely devastating moments in my personal life in the last weeks. But I have not caved in this time.

I don’t know how to explain it, except to say that I am so ready and ripe to be personally mentored and coached that I have let NOTHING stop me from being faithful and steadfast to my commitments to absorbing and applying every ounce of business wisdom and internet marketing knowledge that has been to handed me, from Michael Cheney. I have had to slow my pace at times due to recent uncontrollable circumstances, but I am totally on top of my game with this, and like a sleeping giant (I am SORT OF small by the way LOL) I will suddenly awaken and bloom and grow.  Hmmm.

Not to dwell on personal problems as we all have them, but one earth shattering event that is looming for me anyway, directly affects my ability to work… I have a television post production studio, which is perfect and wonderful and all mine. I have to move it shortly… I have nowhere to put all of my equipment. I have no resources to make a move with. I need all my computers to work with… my equipment cannot go to storage it has to be kept cold, etc etc etc.

But I shall continue to work using my wonderful laptops… and the money will come and I will again somehow rent another beautiful space for my creativity.  Meanwhile I will film on the beach, or the lanai, or in the library, or on the street, or at the fountains, or at Starbucks and Panera. I have been down this road before and I can rebuild.

But the momentum… Time=Money. Lost time can never be regained. I won’t complain that it will take me weeks to correctly hook up and connect the masses of wires and monitors and computers and VTRs and TVs alone. So that brings me to these thoughts on keeping my focus… and believing in the vision.

Here it is. Some notes for you - and for me. I wrote these to remind myself and others that there’s very little in this world that cannot be accomplished if we have a fresh, flexible plan that we consistently tweak and follow - placing our focus on the most important tasks of the day, week, month and year.

Very Basic. Very Simple. Very Easy.

1. Decide What It Is You Want/Need To Do. Your Goals. Monthly. Weekly. Daily.

2. Determine An Action Plan And Follow It Religiously (Be Flexible Tho)

3. Dedicate Yourself To Your Plan And Schedule

4. Develop Shortcuts - Things Will Not Always Be Perfect! And That’s Okay!

5. Don’t Get Sidetracked By Details Or Distractions
